Our Founder and Creative Director Hannah, introduces you to our new season faux fur pom pom Silks…
This time of year definitely conjures up mixed emotions in me, not sure about you guys. On the one hand I absolutely love it … not just as my birthday is at this time of year ;-), but I love the beautiful colours and wonderful autumn smells that fill the air. The low hazy mist filling the valleys with mystery and that early morning chill as you head to the yard – satisfyingly getting the winter rugs ready to wrap your horse in.
However on the other hand, I like I am sure many of you agree, I hate the darker evenings. The feeling of finishing in the yard at 7 and feeling more like 11!
With the dark nights in mind and us all still needing to get our horses exercised … Here are my top 3 tips for your safety in style this season:
1. BE SEEN
When it is getting dark, some of us may think that cars will still see us riding along with their headlights ... however this is NOT always the case. So make sure you are wearing suitable high vis wear for you and your horse to stand out from a distance.
I am really excited to introduce our new high vis fluorescent hatsilks this season, they are the perfect accessory to add to your high vis wardrobe ... with their cute faux fur pom pom you will definitely be seen in style!
Our all new fluorescent yellow pom pom silk is a must for your wardrobe and will definitely get you seen in the dark.
Also in our fluorescent range is our hot pink silk with NEW Siberian fox faux fur pom pom - another perfect accompaniment to your winter wardrobe and a sure head turner.
My second top tip is to plan ... check the weather before you head out, remember that on cloudier, misty days the darker evening always creep up on us alot quicker than on bright sunny days. So plan ahead - maybe take a shorter route or a route that is more open so it doesn't get even darker seeming with enclosed hedges and trees.
My final tip for today would be to ALWAYS let someone know where you are going and what time you plan to leave and how long the route normally takes. Remember to take your phone with you too! This way, in the very unfortunate event you get into trouble, someone will start to worry when you don't get back within a reasonable time.
Thanks for reading and be safe everyone ... don’t forget to tag us #paragonequestrian in your high vis silks for a chance to be featured on our social media accounts.
